Star court reporter Jon Cooper has been covering cases at the magistrates' and crown courts. Here you can read about some of the defendants brought to justice in recent days.
Offenders from across South Yorkshire are continuing to be dealt with at Sheffield crown and magistrates’ courts.
Cases here include a gunman who was found guilty of attempted murder after he shot a 12-year-old boy during a drive-by shooting in Sheffield.
In other cases, a paedophile has been jailed after he admitted inciting a child into a sexual activity and to possessing indecent images involving children, and an axe-wielding admitted robbing a petrol station.
Judges have imposed sentences in many of these cases including custody after considering mitigating circumstances.
