Cannabis producer is sentenced to unpaid work and rehabilitation

Sheffield Crown Court heard on December 19 how Robert Evans, aged 35, of Thompson Close, Rawmarsh, Rotherham, pleaded guilty to producing the class B drug at his home.
Defence solicitor Andrew Walker told a previous Sheffield Magistrates’ Court hearing that Evans was subsequently in breach of a suspended prison sentence, previously imposed by Sheffield Crown Court.

Hide AdHe said during the magistrates’ court hearing that his client was in breach of a suspended sentence order imposed by Sheffield Crown Court and the drug production matter should go to Sheffield Crown Court.
Magistrates adjourned the case for the preparation of a probation report and committed the case to Sheffield Crown Court for sentencing.
Evans was sentenced to a 12-month community order with a Drug Rehabilitation Requirement, a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and 100 hours of unpaid work.
