Sheffield Crown Court heard on March 19 how Ricky Mills, aged 29, of Guildford Road, at Wheatley Hills, Doncaster, and others armed with weapons attacked the motorist who had stopped on Ripon Avenue, Wheatley, Doncaster.
Judge Roger Thomas QC told Mills: “He was attacked by several of you using weapons. A golf club was in someone’s hands and bats and sticks were in people’s hands and you had some sort of spindle.”

Mr Outhwaite added the motorist jumped out of his car and fled losing a shoe and he was caught and beaten.
The motorist managed to get into a garden to get his shoe, according to Mr Outhwaite, before he was attacked again.
Mr Outhwaite said the motorist’s car was also damaged and had to be written-off.

Edward Moss, defending, said that since the attack Mills has turned his life around and has a job.
Judge Thomas recognised Mills has an impressive reference from his employer but he said the defendant had been caught up in “murky waters” in 2017 and 2018.
He sentenced Mills to two years of custody.
