Sheffield Crown Court heard on March 3 how Dominic Gabbitas, aged 38, formerly of the Quality Hotel, on Lane End, Chapeltown, Sheffield, has breached his restraining order five times since it was imposed in October, 2016 to protect his ex-partner.
Laura Marshall, prosecuting, said the couple had separated and reconciled throughout a problematic, on-and-off five-year relationship.

But Recorder Kelly added Gabbitas breached the restraining order in November, 2016, in January, 2017, and in April, 2017, and he received custodial sentences.
The court heard Gabbitas breached the restraining order again by having contact between April and June, 2019, and after he was released on bail he breached the restraining order again in July, 2019.
Recorder Kelly said Gabbitas was subsequently made subject to a community order in October, 2019, but he failed to comply with the rehabilitation requirement linked to that sentence.

Recorder Kelly, who recognised Gabbitas has had homeless issues, revoked his community order and re-sentenced him to eight weeks of custody suspended for two years with a rehabilitation requirement.
He warned if Gabbitas did not comply the custodial term would be activated.
