Like the majority of retailers, The Framery on Sharrow Vale Road has closed to help enforce the Government’s social distancing rules, and will only reopen when the measures are lifted.
But now the shop, which has been operating for nearly 40 years and also specialises in fine art prints, has teamed up with city artist Emily Williams to create six pictures for a series called Frontline, which will be sold online to raise money for NHS Charities Together and the Sheffield Hospitals Charity.

The images, reminiscent of wartime posters, feature the workers holding up a clenched fist above the message: ‘Thank you for everything you do’. The teacher holds a stick of chalk, the nurse grips a stethoscope while the supermarket assistant raises aloft a can of baked beans.
Emily said: “After feeling somewhat helpless over the last few weeks, it’s been incredible collaborating with The Framery on these prints to help raise money for our NHS. My artworks celebrate just some of the many inspiring frontline heroes who are doing what they can to shield us from harm.”
Gabriella Arciello, from The Framery, added: “Sadly, we will all face the repercussions of Covid-19 as this pandemic continues. Now more than ever, it feels necessary to stand together, and Emily’s artworks provide a beacon of light amid these darker days.
