This South Yorkshire restaurant has just made it into the Good Food Guide for the first time
Clam and Cork, based at Doncaster Market, only opened in 2018 but was given a rave review by star food critic Jay Rayner when he visited for a national newspaper.
It is now one of 17 new entries from the region in this year’s The Good Food Guide, and the only new main entry from South Yorkshire.

"It's the best fun you can have with your hat and scarf on”, adds the entry.
Former owner Michael Price took over the restaurant shortly after it initially opened but said it has now been taken over again. The new owner could not be reached for comment.

In Sheffield, there were no new main entries for 2019, but the four restaurants featured as main entries in 2018 retained their places for another year.
They are modern bistro No Name, Crookes, which was a new entry shortly after opening, fine dining hotspot Rafters in Nether Green, Nordic small plates specialist Joro at Kelham Island and The Old Vicarage, Ridgeway, which is known for its locally sourced fine dining dishes.
Close to Sheffield in Derbyshire, there are seven entries, including The Samuel Fox Country Inn at Bradwell, Michelin starred Fischer’s Baslow Hall and Rowley’s, both in Baslow.
