Food chain Wagamama announces outdoor reopening and Sheffield restaurant is on the list - more city venues to follow

The popular Japanese and Asian food-inspired noodle and katsu curry chain confirmed that 72 of its eateries will be able to open for al fresco dining next month, including the city centre restaurant in the Leopold Square complex.
It comes under the Government’s roadmap plan to gradually ease restrictions, with outdoor drinking and dining allowed once again at pubs and restaurants from April 12.

Hide AdThe Leopold Square Facebook page also reports that cocktail bar Kuckoo reopens on May 17.
Cubana offers takeaway tapas and drinks to enjoy in the square from April 16 and the indoor tapas restaurant and cocktail bar reopen on May 17. Live music and DJs return to the venue on June 21.
The Botanist reopens on May 17 for groups of up to six guests for food and drink.
The neighbouring Leopold Hotel on Leopold Street is already open as a place for for essential travellers and key workers to stay.

Hide AdFrom April 12, diners will be able to meet in a group of up to six people from different households, while a maximum of two households can meet to form a group of any size.
The new rules will mark a welcome step for restaurants with outdoor space after the sector was forced to close to everything except takeaway orders since the third lockdown during the Coronavirus pandemic started at the beginning of the year.
Indoor dining will only be allowed after May 17, when Wagamama will look to reopen the remainder of its restaurants.

The group, which launched its biggest-ever vegan range in January, will continue offering delivery and click and collect at the chain, which also has restaurants at Valley Centertainment and Meadowhall.
