From Monday, visitors are not allowed on any of the wards at Rotherham General Hospital apart from one visitor for child patients, one birthing partner, one visitor for patients with dementia and one visitor for end of life patients.
Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust said: “We know that it can be difficult not seeing loved ones, but these steps are being taken as a precaution to help protect our patients, their families and our staff, and support social distancing.

As of yesterday, 177 patients in the UK had died after contracting Covid-19.
There were 48 confirmed cases in Sheffield, seven in Barnsley, four in Rotherham and three in Doncaster.
One death has been recorded in Sheffield.
