It seems people are struggling to get to grips with strict new measures which have seen pubs and bars shut until December 2 when the lockdown will hopefully be lifted.
Trippets Lounge Bar posted on their Facebook page over the weekend: “Just had an email requesting a table for this evening and, helpfully, confirming that they reside in the same household. Give me strength!”

Hide AdAnd Public, a table service bar on Surrey Street, said they had been surprised by similar requests, tweeting: “Had more than a few people trying to book tables for this week and next too! Genuinely very odd.”
Pour, a craft ale pub in Heeley, tweeted: “Had a couple walk in the night before we closed for lockdown asking if they'd be OK coming in for just a few drinks. They seemed confused when I informed them they'd need to have a substantial meal.
"I must say, knowing the rules won't change for a month was a massive relief. Trying to keep up with it from the publicans perspective is hard enough, but the messaging has been so poor that we then end up having to explain it to large swathes of the general public.”
Social media users slammed customers struggling to understand the new regulations as ‘serious numpties’.

Dog Friendly Sheffield tweeted: “This lockdown does feel very unlike the first lockdown. But we ARE in lockdown. Be good if people understood that.”
And @HelpSheffield added: “Stuff’s closed folks.”
But Twitter user @M_cakeman suggested people should be cut some slack due to the the ‘ever changing, often illogical and contradictory regulations’ which are ‘confusing’.
"Last week I masked up, hand sanitised and went into a pub for a 'once in a blue moon' lunchtime pint, then was reminded by the landlord about the meal thing,” he said.
