Seven year-old among latest UK coronavirus victims as local deaths increase by 14

NHS England said there had been another 630 deaths from Covid-19 in the UK – with the youngest just seven.
Locally, there have been another 14 deaths across South Yorkshire, recorded in the 24 hours to 4pm on Wednesday, including five in Sheffield.

Hide AdThe deaths took place between January 4 and February 3, with the majority being on or after 29 January and with the time taken for positive results to be received among the potential factors in a delay between a death happening and being recorded.
NHS England said the patients were aged between seven and 102. All except 30, aged between 40 and 99, had known underlying health conditions.
The data represents the deaths of hospital patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 in the previous 28 days and whose deaths were recorded in the latest reporting period.
In Sheffield, five further deaths were recorded, bringing the city's total to 802. Rotherham’s total rose by two to 521.

Hide AdIn Barnsley, five further deaths increased the total to 534, while in Doncaster, one further fatality was recorded to take the tally to 675.
Since April 28 2020, NHS England and NHS Improvement also started to report the number of patient deaths where there has been no Covid-19 positive test result but it is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death in the death certification process.
Nationally, a further 630 people, who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 74,249.
