Over 20 South Yorkshire patients died from Covid-19 in the region's hospitals

There were five additional fatalities at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that were reported between 4pm on November 17 to 4pm on November 18 – bringing the total number of deaths at the Trust up to 438.
A total of eight more patients passed away after testing positive for coronavirus in the same period at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Hide AdThere have now been 385 patients that have died from the virus while being cared for by the Trust since the pandemic began.
In Barnsley, a further seven people were confirmed to have passed away after contracting Covid-19 increasing the hospital group’s total number of deaths from the virus to 239.
There were also an additional two patients who died from the virus at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust – which has a total of 282 coronavirus related fatalities.
Across England, a further 346 people have passed away after testing positive for Covid-19 while being cared for in hospitals across the country.

Hide AdThis brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England up to 37,470 since the crisis started.
Patients were aged between 35 and 102 years old and all except 9 had known underlying health conditions.
The people were confirmed to have died from October 19 to November 18, with the majority of fatalities being on or after November 16.
