Covidlive.co.uk lets users compare the number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in different parts of the country, based on the statistics published each day by Public Health England.
The number of confirmed cases in Sheffield rose by nearly 40 per cent yesterday, Thursday, March 26, which the site’s creators said was the highest reported regional increase in cases within England over the past 24 hours.

Hide AdGeorge Bennett, who helped create the interactive map, said: “The aim of our website is to raise awareness about the spread of coronavirus and to encourage people to minimise the spread, particularly in regions where growth is high. We are not financially backed by any organisation and we do not run ads.”
Sheffield now has the fifth most confirmed cases in England.
