THE second phase of an £80 million development called The Square in Castlegate, Sheffield, has been launched.
Business people from across the region attended the opening of the newly-completed six-floor office building, which has panoramic city views from the top floor.

Developers Carillion said they were "in discussions with a number of people" intereste
d in becoming tenants.

They insisted that, despite the economic crisis, the new building's prime location would make it attractive to businesses.

Development director Neil McMillan said: "The completion of phase two has completely transformed the gateway to the city.

"We are very proud of our contribution to the regeneration of Castlegate and feel a real sense of achievement when coming into Sheffield along the Parkway with the view of The Square as the focal point."

Phase one of The Square is already occupied by a 114-bed Travelodge hotel, South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, and the 400 space Q-Park.

Plans for the next phase include three office buildings.
