A Sheffield tech specialist has linked up with Energy giant Phillips 66 to work on better batteries for electric vehicles.
Faradion, pioneers of the first sodium-ion powered battery, is working with the huge Humber refinery which already supplies carbon into the lithium-ion battery supply chain.
Faradion says its technoloy has ‘an inherent advantage’ because sodium is low-cost and abundant and does not require expensive materials such as cobalt while being safer.
