Amber Mae Kisby, of Beighton, runs the children’s party firm A Whole New World Event Entertainment, which the 29-year-old says gets the majority of its bookings through Facebook
She was shocked to discover this week that the account had been deleted in the space of one hour and with it she had lost more than 5,000 followers, 500 reviews and thousands of photos which have gone forever.

“I had a little look at Facebook on Monday morning before having a bath, and when I tried to check again about an hour later it was saying my email address wasn’t linked to any account,” she said.
"I knew I’d been hacked but not only that, the whole account had been deleted.
"I reported it to Facebook as soon as I became aware but I was told the account had been disabled for too long and it couldn’t be recovered. When I spoke to police they said that because nobody has tried to use my identity to take my business no crime has been committed.

The timing is particularly gutting for Amber Mae, who has been looking forward to business picking up as Covid lockdown restrictions are lifted, with a number of Summer Princess Balls already planned at Mosborough Hall Hotel.
“It’s been really emotional. I cried for a good couple of hours because I’ve worked so hard building up my business while raising my children, often catching up on emails during the middle of the night, and now it feels like I’m starting from square one again,” she said.

“If it wasn’t for the fact I already have some bookings this year I would have just given up, but I do it to make the children smile so I had to give myself a kick up the bottom and keep going.”For more about the business, visit www.awholenewworldevents.com.
