This is how you can get the finest food delivered to your door while restaurants are shut
But one of the region’s most acclaimed kitchens is offering the next best thing while lockdown restrictions continue to affect some sectors.
Fischer's Baslow Hall – which had a Michelin star for 25 years until 2019 – has organised a food and wine delivery service, allowing customers to choose from a selection of prepared meals, ingredients and drinks which they can either collect or have dispatched to their door.

“As part of our pledge to help the local community, we have taken the decision to offer food parcels to try to help bridge the gap. Food parcels have been formulated using our own produce – Baslow beef, vegetables from our gardens, and stock directly from regional farms and producers.”
An extensive order list features beef bourguignon, fish pie, chilli and cottage pie, as well as punnets of berries, fresh apples, speciality cheeses and huge pork pies.
Premium meat cuts are also available, ranging from whole chickens to fillet steak.

A list of ‘quaffable wines and premium mixed cases’ includes red, white, rose and sparkling varieties.
Customers should order before midday for next day delivery. Boxes are sent out on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and payment is by card over the phone. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm.
Orders can be collected from Fischer’s between midday and 4pm. Delivery is free within a six-mile radius of Baslow – those living six to 10 miles away are entitled to free delivery for orders over £45.
