Capita staff in Sheffield facing redundancy in 'streamlining' move

Workers at its offices in Broomhill were told on a conference call they were on a 21-day consultation process. Some managers were told they would have to apply for their own jobs and go through an interview process, it is claimed.
A worker’s partner said they couldn’t understand the timing.

Hide Ad“My partner has been told that her job is at risk of redundancy and she is devastated, as are many of her colleagues.
“They can't understand the timing which is simply awful given the Covid-19 situation and being dumped on the job market now with little chance of securing another job anytime soon.
“The company has shown zero compassion at this trying time and never attempted to furlough the workers and take advantage of the government’s job retention scheme.”
As well as an office in Broomhill, Capita employs hundreds in a landmark building next to the Parkway close to Sheffield city centre.

“Earlier this year, we carried out a review of our HR and Payroll Education Service in Sheffield. As a result of this process, the decision was made to consolidate and streamline our operations in line with client demand
“We are currently in consultation with the affected colleagues, and are looking to find them alternative roles within Capita.”
