Hide AdRyan Cox, director of El Burrito Box, said: "We have a good engineering friend who wanted to create a mobile food unit as a project, and it all really came together. So we decided to team up, he made the unit and we took it on as a mobile food unit, and from there it has been quite successful and has grown, meaning it makes sense to open a permanent unit.”
Both Sheffielders, Ryan and Alex have used their mobile food unit mostly for Sheffield related events, and have already experienced business in Kelham Island before and, according to Ryan, El Burrito Box has proven popular in the area before.
On moving into Krynkl, Kelham Island, permanently, Ryan added: “It is great, Krynkl is like its own little micro-economy of different places and are doing really decent stuff – I find it a real interesting place to be and can see it being quite lively.”
They serve ‘authentic Mexican flavour’ including burritos, nachos and churros, with the most popular item ‘by-far’ according to Ryan being the BBQ pulled pork, which is served with homemade cheese sauce.
El Burrito Box opened at Krynkl, Kelham Island, on Friday, September 2.
